Focusing on child development and wellbeing education, we explore how tamariki develop, and how their experiences impact on their oranga, now and into the future. We do this based on science and indigenous knowledge. Brainwave Trust has a passionate team of kaiako who share our findings with whānau and rōpū across the country.

Whānau

Brainwave offers a range of educational workshops and wānanga, from two hours to a full day, designed to support parents, whānau and anyone who influences the life of a child. These strengths-based sessions help to reinforce what can make a difference for tamariki and taiohi wellbeing and healthy development. Brainwave also offers specifically developed sessions for groups, including high school students and young parents.

We are incredibly grateful to have the support of our philanthropic supporters the Wright Family Foundation and Sir Thomas and Lady Duncan who enable us to offer many of these sessions at subsidised or no cost.

‘’On behalf of our Wellington Fijian community, I wanted to say a huge thank you / vinaka vakalevu to you for your stunning presentation. The participants thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of your presentation and many were moved by the information that you shared about brain development in the early years of life. We were also moved by the personal stories that you shared about yourself, and your culturally appropriate, Pacific-friendly approach was a bonus. All the best with your work and we look forward to having you back in the near future.’’Session Attendee

Kaimahi

Brainwave offer workshops for professionals who want to deepen their knowledge and understanding of tamariki and taiohi development. Drawing from the latest research on child and brain development and indigenous knowledge, your session will be tailored to the needs of your group and can include a particular focus on the impact of toxic stress, maltreatment and adversity.

‘’Our teachers who attended this workshop were treated to a fabulous informative presentation that was highly interactive and fun. The level of engagement and participation with the question time at the end of the presentation was great. I’d highly recommend workshop for any ECE service.’’Session attendee
